There are many advantages to having a lawyer draft and file your trademark and/or copyright application and/or draft a contract on your behalf. The main reason being, that a lawyer is more likely to prepare a more legally sound application and/or contract; thereby, providing you with broader legal rights and avoiding related pitfalls.

For example, the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) always tries to keep all trademark classifications narrowly defined, which in turn results in the restriction of your trademark’s scope and rights.
